Trout Fishing
Trout stocked weekly, weights range between 400g and 1,2 kg.
Bergsig Trout Farm is a riverfront venue located next to the Swartkop Mountain in The Cradle of Human Kind.
Come and enjoy a fun day out for the whole family. We have 5 dams all offering great fishing, with Bass, Carp and Trout, the river also has Yellow Fish. The Carp can be caught on all your favourite baits. Pack a picnic basket or come and have a braai.
The Specimen Carp Fishing has the opportunity to try and better our record with the largest Carp so far recorded at 19.8 kg. The camping areas are on the dam wall or along the riverfront.
We offer clean facilities with warm water showers and secure parking for all our visitors.
We are located only 20 minutes from Johannesburg's northern suburbs and only 30 minutes from Pretoria. This venue is situated in the Cradle of Human Kind and perfectly safe for overnight camping.
Fishing.
No catch and release of trout.
Bass, Carp and Yellowfish strictly release
The day is divided into two shifts.
Day shift 6am to 6pm
Night shift 6pm to 6am.
Tarrif.
R 60-00 per person fishing per shift.
R 40-00 per person not fishing per shift.
R 105-00 per kilo of trout caught, we clean and jiffy for your convenience to take home. Freshly caught Trout can be smoked within one hour to take home at an additional cost.
(R 250-00 fine will be issued for any injury caused to the carp and bass)
Camping.
R 100-00 per tent per night and R50 per person thereafter.
Fishing rates apply per shift for people fishing.
Caravan Camping.
R 170-00 per caravan per night maximum of 2 persons, R50 per person thereafter.
Power point available
Day time shift 6am to 6pm and night shift fishing 6pm to 6am.

- Catering available by prior arrangement.
- Animals will only be allowed by prior booking with owner.
- Loose standing braai's are available, no fires to be built on the lawn or surrounding areas unless arranged with management.
- A 50% deposit on the total amount secures your booking, no booking is guaranteed without it.
